Flame Angels (Centropyge loriculus) are a stunning dwarf Angel that is bright red in color with black vertical bands on each side of its body. Specimins from Christmas Island are particulary sought after, and thus, are the only kind we sell. They are a little more expensive, but are, in our opinion, worth it.
Flame Angel (Centropyge loriculus)-Tank Requirement
They require a minimum 40 gallon tank. However, they can be aggressive towards other dwarf angels. If you are attempting to keep multiple dwarf angels in your tank, we recommend a minimum 100 gallon tank, and the flame should be the last dwarf angel you add. Ideally, add all dwarf angels you want to keep at the same time.
Flame Angels (Centropyge loriculus) are relatively hardy, for an angel. We still recommend adding them to a well established tank, minimum 6 months, with plenty of live rock for grazing. Feed a variety of meaty foods, vegetarian items, and angelfish foods with sponge.
The Flame Angel (Centropyge loriculus) are not one of the more reef safe dwarf angels. They have the potential to pick significantly on corals.
