Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurus)
The Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurus) is one of the most prized specimens of all saltwater fish. If housed properly, it is a rewarding and attractive addition to any large fish-only or reef tank. Be sure to provide good lighting, lots of free swimming space and plenty of potential hiding spots for the Purple Tang. They can be very aggressive and do not fare well with tank mates of similar body shape, especially other Tangs of the genus Zebrasoma.
Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurus)-Feeding
The Purple Tang will graze on algae in the aquarium as well as accepting other prepared foods both frozen and dried. Purple Tangs need vitamin supplements that are high in beta-carotene, to help prevent lateral line disease.

I received my Purple Tang within 24 hours of placing my online order. I was delighted with the size and the way it was packed. It acclimated well and was eating within hours. Very personable active fish. One of my favorite fish.

This was the first time purchasing from NYAquatics, i purchased 3 of the purple tangs and I am more than please with the size in which was sent to me. The shipping container was well pack, each fish was packaged individually with a lot of water. The tangs have beautiful color and they very healthy. I will be purchasing more from NYAquatics.

Nice fat and healthy purple tang and for the price you can't beat. It was definitely on the bigger side of 3 to 4 inches but no complaints here. Eats like a pig eating out my hand on the 2nd day

I am very pleased with these Purple Tangs. For the incredible price I expected them to be very small, like the tiny captive bred yellow tangs you can get nowadays. However, these Purple Tangs are larger than I expected at around 3". They also came in very fat. Highly recommended!
