Halichoeres melanurus
The Hoeven's pinstreaked wrasse requires a 50 gallon or larger aquarium with a tight-fitting lid and a 2-3 inch sandy bottom to hide under if frightened. It can be kept with its own kind.
It will eat fireworms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, it may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. It may also eat parasites off of tank mates. Feedings should include a variety of prepared meaty foods.

My first order from NYAquatic and I'm very happy with the outcome. I ordered two wrasses that both arrived healthy and much more colorful than I anticipated after shipping. I introduced them to my tank and after spending around a day under the sand, both the melanurus and yellow corris emerged and began picking at rocks and eating immediately. Will absolutely continue to shop NYAquatic - great prices and healthy specimens.

The wrasse I got from NY Aquatic is nearly 4 inches long, fat and colorful. He's thriving in my QT and eating frozen mysis right away.

I received this fish promptly and in great shape. It was packed well and appears to be very healthy. After a short period of shyness (most likely due to stress from shipping) it is now active and eating. I am very happy with my purchase and will not hesitate to purchase from Michael's NYAquatic again.
